Gender Equality Among Barristers Before the High Court: A Seminar by UNSW Professor George Williams AO

  • Staff Library, ANU College of Law 5 Fellows Road Acton, ACT, 2601 Australia (map)

We are delighted to invite you, as co-hosts with the Centre for International and Public Law and the ANU Gender Institute, to a seminar by Professor George Williams AO on his recent research into gender equality among barristers before the High Court.

Professor Williams has generously offered to give this seminar ahead of the results of his research being published. The seminar will be at 5pm on 11 October at the ANU law school and will examine this important topic:

How often do women appear before the High Court of Australia? How many have speaking roles? Why have women made so many advances in the legal profession, but not in this area? Professor Williams will answer these questions in speaking to recent research on gender equality among barristers before the High Court.

Professor Williams is the Dean, the Anthony Mason Professor, and a Scientia Professor at UNSW Law. Read his bio here.
